Awe.  I was expecting this to be on-time but I guess not.  I didn’t know it was that deep but its not like the game had pictures depicting the Prophet Muhammad!  I mean come on… isn’t the idea to educate others.

Resistance 2 Public Beta

Posted by: Adam Stafford In: Games| Playstation| Uncategorized

Resistence 2 BetaI got my beta key this weekend for Resistance 2 and have put a good amount of game play into it.  Like with any beta is has its quirks but it does not disappoint.

Awesome game play and awesome graphics which I can’t wait to own a copy of this as my next multiplayer favorite.  So to all of my Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare friends please consider it as our alien alternative for online play.

After the jump view some screen captures for the Resistance 2 Beta site, check them out in Hi-Res!  Here is a picture from the Orick map that you get to run around shutting down turrets in a heart pounding race for your life.

Playstation drug bust What else other than hide 3,400 ecstasy pills inside of it and use it for smuggling.  My first question for the three men accused of this crime would be, who the hell is buying a PS2 in the mail?  the second would be more along the line of, why didn’t you properly pack it with styrofoam and triple vacuum seals but, I figured that was inappropriate.

Hopefully someone from the intelligence community can send me some more pictures for my own digestion.  You know who you are and no I won’t be posting it to my site, I just want to see more and find out what game was it.

News post after the hump.

HTC Android G1 not a big seller with me.

Posted by: Adam Stafford In: Mobile

Image provided by: AndroidG1.orgI have been anticipating the release of the Android G1 for some time and I’m a Gooooogler, so I love Google products.  From search engine to Gmail to Google Labs to almost anything else they do, Google is a trend setter.  One in which I will gladly follow but, what is up with the new Android G1 manufactured by HTC?

PlayOn from The Media Mall streams Netflix in great quality!

[Update: 10/13/08 Netflix Watch instantly Horror Marathon!]

I have had the opportunity for several months to Beta test PlayOn from The Media Mall, which streams various content providers over your home network to an array of devices, particularly in my case PlayStation 3.  I love watching my Hulu.com content but I also love watching my Netflix Watch Instantly without committing to the $100 Roku device.  At least not just yet even though Netflix is now feeding us with another 1,000 streaming videos from the Starz lineup.  Oh joy!!!

The biggest advantage over the Roku is having a self-contained device that transcodes your video content and will soon be providing HD content once Netflix rolls it out. PlayOn requires a computer to perform all the transcoding and when HD content does become available you will need a computer with a little more power to do the job.  Here are some screen captures of one of the most disturbing films I have seen in a long time, Masters of Horror: Takashi Miike: Imprint.  Freaky!!!

PSP Plus awkwardly unites PSP, DualShock 3

Posted by: Adam Stafford In: PSP

I often wondered about the control differences between the familiar Sixaxis controller and the games designed for PSP.  This is great news for folks but I still am left wondering, who the heck is gonna hold the PSP in front of me.  Gadget makers its time to get busy with PSP head harnesses so we can walk around futuristically.

With only one analog nub, the PSP can’t seem to nail down a comfortable first or third-person shooter control scheme on its own, but a new tech called "PSP Plus" will allow users to pair the handheld with the PlayStation 3’s more genre-capable SIXAXIS or DualShock 3 controllers. Sony announced PSP Plus at the Tokyo Game Show today but didn’t provide much info about how it works, so we’re not sure if it’s the same technology that was patented last year. We do know there’s a pretty outrageous catch: you’ll need to connect your PSP to your PS3 to use the controller. With only one game supported (Resistance Retribution), we prefer just about any homemade hack to this solution, and if you’re at home with your PS3, why not play Resistance 2 instead? It’s what Kratos would do.

Presidential Debate 2008

Posted by: Adam Stafford In: News

  • How do you feel about last nights live presidential debate?
  • Did you get the information to help you make a sound decision on the next Commander-in-Chief over the United State?
  • Are your views in-line with the your presidential candidate?
  • Does the debating process help you to make your decision this far in the process?
  • And would a response during the presidential debate change the direction of your vote?

Well I watched the debate and was upset that the town hall style debate turned into another mudslinging event.  I would like to really know what each candidate has to offer me and my fellow Americans without throwing each other under the bus.  In participation I followed the debate on MySpace (while I was in school) and her are the results of the online Issues survey I took.

Turn your PS Eye into a working webcam

Posted by: Adam Stafford In: Uncategorized

Finally the Playstation Eye for the PS3 has Windows drivers.  I have been waiting for someone to take the time to develop them instead of just using the four microphone array for podcasts.  Thanks NUI Group for taking the time for such a phenomenal contribution.

With the exception of LittleBigPlanet and The Eye of Judgment, there hasn’t been much reason to dust off the Eye. Well, put it to work! Get the camera off its lazy butt and have it become a fully functional PC webcam. The NUI Group is offering detailed instructions on how to get the Eye camera to work on your PC, with easy to install drivers.
