CAT KILLER STRIKES AGAIN
5 more cats found killed and mutilated bringing the total to 30 since April. The latest feline victims found in the Palmetto Bay area, one of them belonged to a police officer. Miami Dade police believe at least 20 of the mutilations were committed by a person, not an animal. The reward for information leading to the cat killer is 12-thousand dollars.
ROAD RAGE SHOOTING
The search also continues for a driver, apparently fueled by road rage about this time yesterday at I-95 and Hallandale Beach Boulevard. The shooter was ticked off by the way the driver of an SUV was merging, followed the SUV and opened fire, hitting it twice, once near the gas tank. No one was injured.
TOWN HALL MEETING: YOUTH IN PERIL
Violence, crime, education and healthcare, will all be part of the conversation this Saturday when Muhummad’s Mosque #82 holds a Town Hall Meeting. You are invited. It’ll be at the African American Research Library and Cultural Center in Fort Lauderdale, 3 to 5PM. The town hall meeting is aimed at helping young people, it’s titled, “Youth in Peril”.
15 KROME DETAINEES QUARRANTINED
In other news, concerns about the swine flu prompting officials at the Krome Detention Center to quarantine 15 detainees. They’re being watched for signs of the H1N1 virus. For the time being no visitors are being allowed at the West Dade facility.
MAN CHOPS OFF GIRLFRIENDS FINGERS
A North Lauderdale man, 21 year old Christian Ramos-Murillos is facing an attempted murder charge, accused of stabbing his girlfriend, Jacqueline Ulfo, and hacking off four of her fingers with a machete. It’s unclear what led to the attack. Neighbors say they heard the couple creaming and arguing all the time.
HOSPITAL WORKER ACCUSED OF ASSAULTING PATIENT
A hospital worker accused of sexually assaulting one of his patients is out of jail on bond. Ivo Diaz, nowformer ultra sound technician at Holy Cross Hospital allegedly took advantage of a female patient last month when he was supposed to be performing an ultrasound.
He has been fired, a spokesperson says that is because his license expired.
FREE IMMUNIZATIONS IN BROWARD COUNTY
The Broward County Health Department is providing FREE immunizations for kids today. Kids shots have to be current to attend school Again, the health department is providing the free shots today for kids in Broward at the Northwest Health Center:
