Congress.org – Letter to Rep. Ron Klein (D-Florida): FISA Renewal

I don’t think the issues is whether our country is safe from terrorism as we are always under attack by someone.  The Chinese are constantly trying to poison us with lead-based products or razor blazes in lollipops as they recently found in candy sold at a dollar store.  But the issue I have with domestic security is identifying the terrorist.  Our government often racially profile or get their intelligence information screwed up, so why would I trust them to monitor communications.

I recently came across this letter to our current head of government and Rep. Ron Klein the representative deliberating this expiring bill and I think it is time that We the People of the United States take back our country from the spying eyes of our government.  Read the below letter from my neighbor in the next county for yourself and participate in sending on to the powers that be in hopes that we can retain the privacy the founding fathers wished for us to have.

Congress.org – Letter to Rep. Ron Klein (D-Florida): FISA Renewal

Subject:  FISA Renewal

To:
President George Bush
Sen. Bill Nelson
Sen. Mel Martinez
Rep. Ron Klein

February 23, 2008

Ron, I just saw a Republican attack ad directed at you over the renewal of the FISA act in the form that would grant immunity for the telecoms who, in exchange for favoritism from the Republican run FCC, violated our privacy with impunity, as well as continuing the unnecessary and unconstitutional warrantless spying program. DO NOT allow them to do this with immunity as well. Retain what little remains of the checks & balances that the Founding Fathers considered so vital to our country.
Do not allow intimidation from phony ads and input purporting to be from your constituents but actually from the telecoms and the Republicans to sway you from opposing this bill. DO NOT cave in like that cowardly Democrat, Bill Nelson did, and constantly does, to the likes of fascist George Bush and his Gestapo minions like Mel Martinez and the rest of the Neo-con nut cases, and their sycophants who are, regardless of the overwhelming opposition throughout America, hell-bent on turning this country into a crypto-theocracy and a fascist state not unlike most of the Middle East and Red China.
The Republicans and their fellow-traveling Democrats (that would be you, Bill Nelson) are a greater threat to democracy and liberty than any terrorist group, particularly the ones based on the phony lies of the administration.
Just watch what happens as the election approaches. Remember the "credible threats" that seemed to pop up in amazing synchronicity with exposed lies during 2004? Remember what lying phonies Ashcroft, Ridge, Rummy & Cheney were exposed as? Just wait – it will be an order of magnitude worse this year.
Just in case you are in any way swayed by the opinion of John Rockefeller:
"Top Verizon executives, including CEO Ivan Seidenberg and President Dennis Strigl, wrote personal checks to Rockefeller totaling $23,500 in March, 2007. Prior to that apparently coordinated flurry of 29 donations, only one of those executives had ever donated to Rockefeller (at least while working for Verizon).
"AT&T executives discovered a fondness for Rockefeller just a month after Verizon execs did and over a three-month span, collectively made donations totaling $19,350." [Wired]
Looks like Rockefeller is just another Democratic whore. Don’t you be one.
Stop these sociopaths before it is too late.
